Featured mapping software similar to Google Maps
This was a semester long project with the end goal being to create a functional, fully featured mapping software similar to the likes of Google Maps. Written in C++, the project stressed our skills in design, communication, software development and project management. The map features a graphical interface, current road closures, multiple city maps, subway stations and road directions.

To provide navigation directions, the map uses an A* algorithm to compute the shortest route between intersections based on travel time. A* is a variation of Dijkstra's Algorithm, a well known Algorithm used for finding the shortest path between nodes in a graph. It trades some accuracy for efficiency compared to Dijkstra's, relying on a heuristic to decide which node to visit next. It takes the current time to the current node, and adds it to the estimated time to the destination, picking the shortest total time to be the next visited node. As a result, in this case A* ended up being a 3x-5x improvement in computation time.
Game written in Verilog designed for use on an Intel FPGA
This was a final project for my digital systems course. Written in Verilog, it aims to be a take on the mobile game Astro Party. Here, two players battle it out in spaceships, trying to destory the other player's ship, where the first to 5 eliminations is the winner. Score was tracked on the FPGA's integrated HEX displays. Input was done via a PS2 Keyboard, and was outputted to a VGA display. Processing was done by a De1-SoC FPGA.

Introduction to basics of web design with HTML and CSS.
This project was undertaken to learn more about the basics of web design with HTML and CSS, but also serve to be a place where I can showcase some of my notable works. I decided to use Bootstrap 4 elements when creating the website as it provides many templated classes that streamline the formatting process. However, I decided against using a pre-made theme, as I wanted to learn the full process of assembling a website, and make it unique to my application.
C based game designed for use on a FPGA.
This project aims to recreate a popular type of arcade game, where you try and catch falling objects. This was written for an Intel De1-SoC FPGA, with a keyboard input and VGA output. In this game, a player controls a frog with arrow keys, trying to catch falling flies. They have three lives, and the flies increase in velocity and frequency as time goes on. Keyboard generated interrupts were used to control the frog, and graphics were handled by double buffering the VGA pixel buffer.
Python based words per minute calculator
This is a python based words per minute typing test calculator, similar to the likes of 10fastfingers. Graphics were handled by pygame, a python library used in basic game design. Words were randomly selected from an external wordbank, and users have one minute to type out as many words as possible. The words per minute of the user is calculated using the formula found here.
